Hard to miss. 8\

The opening sequence to one of the Planet of the Apes remakes (pandemic scenario) gives a pretty good feel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgHATo0d3YA

Long Descent and Fast Collapse look exactly alike until crunch time. I would say that, if a sudden, significant interruption of the economy (meaning a full break lasting more than about a week) results in a regrouping at a significantly lower level of function, that would mean LD is much more possible than I think. That's the main diff... LD allows regrouping, FC does not.

Cataclysmic events with nearly immediate, global impact may take us more by surprise, but are harder to prepare against (meteor impact, supervolcano eruptions, nuke war, etc). Natural ones happen in geologic time, so remain rare in any individual's life span. Nuke war? We're playing with fire.

Good Night, and Good Luck!

Dave Z

Dave Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13241033623115158564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6258517855797826395.post-43325598283368358502016-12-28T19:01:13.312-08:002016-12-28T19:01:13.312-08:00This is the best description of how a fast collaps...This is the best description of how a fast collapse could happen that I have seen, as far as "getting it". I am curious to know what would constitute a collapse, how to know it arrived, and how to recognize the difference from a long descent. I do know a major nuclear war would qualify, but I think what you are describing is broader than just that Dennis Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04525900170454935174noreply@blogger.com
